Ask Lemmygrad@lemmygrad.ml•What makes our debunking of Atrocity Propaganda narratives different from "denialism?

GenZedong@lemmygrad.ml•Is Russia’s Intervention in Ukraine Revolutionary?
7·1 month agoI try to keep in mind that Mao allied with the Kuomintang even after they’d conducted a war of extermination against the communists. It was worth it to chase out the Japanese and achieve national liberation. The CPGB is of course hardly as bad as the Kuomintang despite their regressive gender views, but it’s a good reminder of the importance of tactical alliances.

GenZedong@lemmygrad.ml•Is Russia’s Intervention in Ukraine Revolutionary?
7·1 month agoAs much as I disagree with CPGB on transgender issues, I can’t think of a single bourgeois religious institution that has consistently good analysis of imperialism, which is at the moment the principal contradiction in the world.
My understanding of their position on transgender is that it’s based on concern for what they see as men in women’s spaces, as well as the notion that transgender is anti-materialist, liberal and metaphysical. Their position is wrongheaded but not religious. Ultimately, trans rights are human rights, some of our best comrades are trans, and CPGB must come to recognize this.

13·1 month agoI’m not exaggerating when I say this is the first social media platform I’ve been on where most people are open to changing their minds in the course of a discussion. It makes my head spin.
Anyways, have a look at the recent thread on Ukraine here, in particular the reply by Yogthos: https://lemmygrad.ml/post/9212334/7045123

Theory Discussion Group@lemmygrad.ml•Engels's "Socialism: Utopian and Scientific" | Theory Discussion Group, Week 40 of 2025
13·1 month agoOne of the greatest texts in the canon. Part 3 is the best introduction to the Marxist view of history and materialism. I always recommend newbies start there. Draws together and synthesizes so much. The concept of anarchy of production is a great companion to Marx’s section on commodity fetishism in Capital.

GenZedong@lemmygrad.ml•Is Russia’s Intervention in Ukraine Revolutionary?
11·1 month agoI don’t honestly recall that line, is that from when Jyotishman plays devil’s advocate?
Anyways I think Joti does a good job of analyzing the geopolitical situation in Europe in terms of Leninism, in particular with reference to Stalin’s Foundations of Leninism, and the question of whether or not national liberation is progressive even if not explicitly socialist. The fight against western imperialism is truly the principal contradiction of our time.

191·1 month agoI realize they’re problematic but this is one of the most based and theoretically correct anti imperialist takes on Ukraine I’ve heard. Also some good analysis of English mainstream politics further in. Credit where credit is due. Hoping they will evolve out of the TERFy stuff.

Communism@lemmygrad.ml•The Left Needs to Change Our Social Media Use
11·1 month agoTrue but if you look at the careers of every successful revolutionary they did tons of reading, writing, and getting the word out. Don’t discount theory, communication and networking. That’s not idealism, that’s putting ideas into action.

GenZedong@lemmygrad.ml•US-Funded Unrest Targets 3 Asian Nations in 1 Month - Now Targeting the Philippines
6·2 months agoEvery comprador and accomplice of the oinking pig demons of the US empire eventually gets a knife in the back. Doesn’t matter how much of a good little boy Bongbong was if they can get a fraction of a better deal or slightly more cooperation with someone else, especially at a crucial moment when they’re setting dumpster fires across Asia.
Again, this is not an endorsement of Bongbong nor a dismissal of legitimate grievances against him.

Well there ya go.
I don’t approve of you doing this lesser evilism.
Analysis of current events in light of US strategic goals and well established patterns of interference is neither a moral argument nor an endorsement of Bongbong.

GenZedong@lemmygrad.ml•US-Funded Unrest Targets 3 Asian Nations in 1 Month - Now Targeting the Philippines
9·2 months agoIn order for this to make any sense as he is claiming then the Philippines must have recently started drifting toward the Chinese sphere of influence
No, it doesn’t need to have been drifting towards China. All the motivation they need is wanting someone even more extreme and in their pocket, like Leni Robredo whom Marcos beat in 2022. Did you watchthe video? Did you pay particular attention at 21:30?
Brian’s speculation that Marcos may have said no to them in some crucial respect is, of course, speculation but makes sense.
The biggest “tell” is, of course, the timing of the three color revolutions and the copy and paste similarity of optics andtalking points.
